音読み (おんよみ): ジュウ、チョウ

訓読み (くんよみ): おも・い、かさ・ねる、え

部首 (ぶしゅ):(さと

Meaning:  heavy, pile up

Notes:

一重

ひとえ
one layer, single.  紙一重 (かみひとえ) means “paper thin”

軽重

けいちょう– more commonly pronounce けいじゅう
relative weight, relative importance

重ね着

かさねぎ
wear one garment over another

重大

じゅうだい
serious, important, significant, grave
